Clomid & PCO

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ————–25C256794E67 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I haven’t participated in a while so I don’t know your situation. I have PCO and am overweight, apparently the new research suggests that PCO is directly related to isulin resistance. There are 2 drugs to combat insulin resistance they are Regulin and something else that I don’t remember. But the stuff that I’ve been reading up on suggests that many PCOers are also carbohyrdate addicts. I.E. that we like sweets, sodas, pastas, breads, potatoes etc. The PCO support group is really good about this subject and I found a wonderful site from a woman that has been low-carbing it since April 1997. She was 310lbs and is now down to 220, and is finally ovulating on her own. I stated this way of eating but not as drastically (I eat about 60-90gm of carb per day, she eats like 20-40 carbs per day) and have lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks. And today my period finally started on its own without me having to take Provera. Take a look at her site cause she has other sites to link to. http//www.enter.net/~pamptyza/lowc-toc.htm and www.pcosupport  is the support group Good Luck Paris ————–25C256794E67 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="www.pcosupport" <BASE HREF="www.pcosupport"> <HTML> <HEAD><TITLE>Error</TITLE></HEAD> <BODY> <H1>Error</H1> <BLOCKQUOTE><B> <HR SIZE=4><P> The requested item could not be loaded by the proxy.<P> Netscape Proxy is unable to locate the server:   www.pcosupport The server does not have a DNS entry. How are you diagnosed as having PCO ?  I understand that one of the symptoms in not ovulation (is that correct?)  Well, before I was on birth control my cycles were every 28-30 days, after going off of them, 2 1/2 years ago, I have only had a few periods on my own, all the rest have been the result of Clomid or Fertinex.  I have had a Lap and HSG, if I had PCO would they have been able to tell by these test? —

Response:

I was diagnosed with PCO because I had very few periods on my own, so Gyn. had me chart BBT for three months in a row, and realized I was not ovulating.  I had many blood test done, and ultrasound (transabdominal and transvaginal) done.  In the ultrasound report it suggest the diagnosis of PCO. With the results of the blood work and ultrasound and BBT they diagnosed me with PCO.  I had a Lap. done after the diagnoses. Hope this helps, Wishful Eb morejon <emore…@roanoke.infi.net> wrote in article <347B5274.2…@roanoke.infi.net>… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> How are you diagnosed as having PCO ?  I understand that one of the > symptoms in not ovulation (is that correct?)  Well, before I was on > birth control my cycles were every 28-30 days, after going off of them, > 2 1/2 years ago, I have only had a few periods on my own, all the rest > have been the result of Clomid or Fertinex.  I have had a Lap and HSG, > if I had PCO would they have been able to tell by these test? > —

Hi I am new here to the news group and have a few questions.   I am trying to get pregnant and found out I have PCO.  I had laporoscopy   done, and now I am on Clomid.   I have never had reg. cycles (only when on birth control pills) and the   months of charting BBT, my temp. is low 35 – 36.5 C.   I am on Clomid 50mg days 5-10, then am supposed to start trying on day 10.   Last month I thought for sure I was pregnant, temp up a bit (37.2) sore   breast, tired,  heart burn, not feeling the greatest, but on day 32 I got  my   period. talk about disappointment :(   I was wondering how high temp should be if pregnant, and am I feeling this   way because of Clomid, or just in my head?   If Clomid doesn’t work, where do I go from there?   I am going to go look for the book Taking charge of your Fertility, as I   seen it mention a lot.   Thanks for any help you may be able to give.   Wishful. P.S.  please reply to newsgroup as I am using bosses computer (shhh) and had to change email so he would see any of this.
