doctors
Question:
I called my insurance company complaining that the doctor I saw was really ignorant and made me feel like a pain in the bud by asking questions and then it took me 5 weeks to get a test result from the doctor. I was promised that I would get it after 1 week, and every time I called the doctors office the lady was pretty rude and told me to call a voice mail and leave a message. My insurance company took me very serious and filed a complaint, I received a couple of calls from them checking if I had heard from the doctor’s office about the test results and I received a letter confirming my complaint. When I saw the doctor again to discuss the test result, I was treated with respect, she listened to me, we discussed different things regarding treatments, she admitted that she forgot to take one test and she gave me a referral to another specialist. I have Foundation Health as my insurance company. It pays off to show teethes. Response:
I had to show teeth to my HMO because they hadn’t paid my ob/gyn’s surgeon bill from Feb. 3 (they paid the $600 endometrial biopsy, $400 tumor biopsy, $4500 CG hospital bill) – and after asking enough questions to get sent to the legal group with the idea they were getting something signed return receipt – they moved.
Even good docs get stiffed by HMO’s.
