fertinex-small follicles

Question:

Hi!  This is Shelly.  I am on my second cycle of fertinex.  Last month, we cancelled because of 7 mature follicles.  As a result, my RE started me off slow this month, and put me on 1/2 amps for 5 days.  Then, we went to 1 amp for 3 days, and now we are up tp 2 amps.  This time, they are only seeing small follicles.  We are on day 12.  We are running out of money to spend on all these amps.  What should I expect over the next few days?  Could this month be another lost cause because now my follicles are too small?  Can they grow with more medicine in the next week?  IS it a waste?  Help!  I am getting very discouraged because we can’t seem to find the right dosage.  My body is responding differently each month.  Please write me back if you have any insights.  I will go back in Thursday.  Thanks alot!!! Shelly  P.S.  I am 28 and are only diagnosed problem is ovulatory dysfunction.

I’ve started 6 IVF cycles, completed 3 and had a HUGE variation in response even with the exact same dosages.  2 cycles I had 14, 15 eggs and nearly all fertilized.  One cycle only 5, and 3 cycles cancelled due to either a dominant follicle or poor response.  Your cycles just vary a lot from month to month I’m told.  Good luck to you.

My first cycle of Fertinex I took 1 amp/day for 9 days and had 1 mature follicle and no immature follicles. My second cycle of fertinex I took 1 amp/day for 14 days and 1 1/2 amps/day for 5 days.  I had 2 mature follicles and 18 follicles that measured about 10mm each.   So, in my experience (I have PCO)  I didn’t respond the same each cycle. Sounds like this may be true for you as well. good luck to you! Stacy

How small is small?   Fertinex dosages are pretty much trial and error until they get the right amount for you.  How are your E2 levels? — Marie Gilbert Marketing Manager Motorola Cellular
