Has anyone ever tried the herb Saw Palmetto for PCO?

Question:

Has anyone ever tried the herb Saw Palmetto for PCO?  If yes, what was your experience. Elaine

Response:

Elaine, I have recently started taking Saw Palmetto to combat the hirsutism I have from  PCO.  I began taking 2 400mg tablets a day and am quite pleased with the  results so far. Prior to this, I have been going to an electrolysist every week for the past 2  years with little to no change in the amount of hair, if anything it only  seemed to get worse.  That is, until now.  After 2 months on Saw Palmetto the  electrolysis seems to be taking.  I finally have a bald patch on my throat  WOOHOO. My electrolysist seems to think that I might actually be able to get to the  "maintenance level" of electrolysis eventually (where I will only go once  every 6 months or so to clear any new hairs).  Even she has noticed a big  difference and can’t wait to see when we finally clear one side completely &  go onto the other, just to see how long it takes for any new ones to appear on  the cleared off side. Myself, I have experienced no side affects other than a few mild anxiety  attacks in first week I started taking it (and that could have been caused by  stress).  But, another person I have talked to mentioned they had heart  flutters (palpatations) and thought that the Saw Palmetto was causing it…  but no definite proof. Hope this answers your question… any others, please feel free to email me at  Meo…@aol.com Tina – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Elaine wrote:> >Has anyone ever tried the herb Saw Palmetto for PCO?  If yes, what was your >experience. >Has anyone ever tried the herb Saw Palmetto for PCO?  If yes, what was your >experience.
