hCG level detected by home pregnancy kits?

Question:

Hi Lisa, Blood tests are positive above *5mIu/ml.*  All hpts are different.  I’ve used EPT’s in the past and they register positive at 40mIU/ml.  Urine tests are obviously not nearly as sensitive as blood tests. Good luck! Thanks, Lisa

Lisa,      My ob/gyn told me that blood tests are positive at 5 or 10 and hpt s are positive at 30.      Andrea

I think equate sold at walmart detects at 25. It can give those with pco false positives I’ve heard. KIM:-}

<<I think equate sold at walmart detects at 25. It can give those with pco false positives I’ve heard. Yup, Equate detects at 25. It will give someone with PCO a false positive *if*  their LH is *really* out of whack…..like higher than 25.  (my baseline LH is 15……high, but not high enough for a false +)  This is also why PCO-ers can have false positives w/OPK’s.  (BTW, LH and hCG are practically identical, chemically)
