low carb for regulating cycle

No kidding. When I was pregnant the PCO completely changed. I couldn’t stomach the protein and ate all the carbs I could get my hands on and hardly gained anything. Had a bouncing baby girl, healthy as can be… so apparently the eating didn’t have a thing to do with her health. Unfortunately now I have gained more weight since I am a carbo addict LOL. Guess I had better realized I can’t eat like I did when I was pregnant… oh well . Tina

I began to ovulate immediately when I started to eat low carb. I am not wanting to get pregnant, so I am on BCP. I know I have heard of many many women in the low carb diet newsgroup that have gotten pregnant, with their thanks to the low carb diet. My only concern if I ever were to decide to conceive would be how I am supposed to eat when I am pregnant. Does one continue the low carb to control the insulin – so as to control the correct hormonal balance, etc. I would say it is a pretty good chance you can get pregnant from what I have heard, but you should also make a promise to yourself that if you do miscarry again, not to blame yourself. I was afraid I would do this if I did get pregnant, thinking, "oh I ate something I shouldnt have and that is probably what caused it". Good luck! Anna

Hi all, I do not read this newsgroup regularly as I have not been diagnosed with PCO. But, I have been trying to conceive for over a year. I miscarried once 9 months ago. I have long (sometimes anovulatory cycles). I have read that eating a low-carb diet can improve ovarian functioning. If anyone can email me with any info. regarding this I would greatly appreciate it. Any personal experiences, websites, books etc. very welcome. Thanks in advance for the info. I have already started eating low-carb…just want some info. about whether this may positively affect my cycles. Since I do not read this newsgroup, I would really appreciate it if you could email me at kpaulse…@aol.com. Thank you very, very much. Kim
