OPK recommendations?
Question:
Good evening ladies (and gentlemen)….. I need some suggestions regarding OPKs. I am officially back on the bandwagon after a month off and on day 3 of 150mg clomid. Anyhow, I want to know which OPK brands you most recommend. Last time I used First Response and had a really hard time telling if the test line was darker or as dark as the control line. Made me crazy trying to figure out my cycle. Any input is appreciated and thank you. Laurie

I have always used the Target, CVS or Walgreens brands. I can read them much easier than Answer (which I bought because it was cheap.) Good luck. ox Susan – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Good evening ladies (and gentlemen)….. I need some suggestions regarding OPKs. 2nd cycle of OPK, this is what I’ve experienced: 1. OPK stands for Overpriced Pee Kits (LOL). 2. Some suggest you can pee-on-stick first thing in the morning, I tried that, but stopped after a ruined overpriced stick of ClearPlan Easy. (I drank a very large herbal tea the night before). 3. This is what I do: after my first morning urine, waiting 4 hours for testing (and about to explode!). 4. I don’t forget Paula’s chant: "Explode! Don’t splatter! Come on turtle, hold that bladder!" (LOL)! 5. Once after long waiting I couldn’t find the OPKs. 6. ClearPlan Easy has an extra HPT "bonus". Could cause a confusion! Also happened to me. 7. Two good reasons to prepare the stick in advance. 8. I bought from drugstore.com 4 Answer OPKs (20 sticks) for total $44.45 (including S&H). Cheaper! 9. I prefer much more ClearPlan Easy design. Answer don’t have a "cap". 10. After all these months of ttc, dh knows I’m desperately looking for the other line. Last week he found in the bathroom my OPK test with 2 lines, only it was —- I hope it helps somehow, Good luck! ,, ,—, (_,/ _/ _/__/ sl/_/ow/_/and steady wins the race

Laurie, I have found that the best opk by far is the answer brand. I always get a clear and accurate result and they are pretty inexpensive. Best wishes! Shelley PCO/IR starting injectables in march on metformin

Hi Laurie, I have had good timing with Answer. I think that it is easy to read, too. Beth

I’ve tried Answer for the past year and have had good results (yet still not pg). I tried First Response this month and it was pretty good too, I like the cap on the end. Then I saw my dr and she gave me an OvuQuick testing kit that you need to have a chemistry degree in order to use. LOL! It worked great, but it was like $45 (I’m not kidding) and you have to pee in a cup and add drops of 4 different chemicals to the testing pad. Kimberly

They actually do make a different version for us non-scientists but it is still just as expensive. I use the pharamcy brand which works just fine as far as I can tell.
