PCO Dr in Austin TX

Question:

Hi-Just moved to the Austin TX area and am looking for a PCO knowledgeable gynocologist.  I am not looking to get pregnant just treat the PCO.  If anyone could recommend someone I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I go to an endocrinologist named Dr. Blevins with the Austin Diagnostic Clinic up on Parmer lane.  He is open to trying allot of various things and is very knowledgable about PCO.  I was referred to him by another friend of mine that has PCO.  I am single and also not trying to get pregnant, so I know that he does not just focus on getting women pregnant.  I can’t remember the phone number off hand, but he is in the yellow pages.  Good Luck, and if you find someone else that is very good let me know!! Dr. Gail Yohe in Round Rock is good and knowledgeable.  She is a gynecologist only…I had only just found her before I moved out of state, but she was very good.  She looked at all my test results and said "why aren’t you on metformin?" when my previous doc wouldn’t even consider it…she was definitely aware of insulin resistance behind PCO. Her number was:  512-388-9855.  I myself was referred to Dr. Yohe and was told that her nurse practitioner at the time, Julie Williams, is also very PCO knowledgeable. I accepted a new job just one month after my initial appt with Dr. Yohe…and one of the downsides was that here I had found a great doctor after looking for a full year, and now I wouldn’t be able to continue with her.  Luckily, the docs at University of North Carolina Hospitals are pretty good too, and I’ve even been involved in a PCO study with them at UNC. In any case, if you can get to Round Rock, I highly recommend Dr. Yohe… "Lara Farrier" <l…@farriersoft.com> wrote in message
