Okay, just made it to the docs this morning (bad cold/cough meant I slept through my alarm clock and only woke 8 mins before the appt!!! luck I live so close!!). I have multiple small cysts on my ovaries, and some small cysts in my womb-lining. Thus indicating to her that my hormones are out of whack. Plus, my lining is about 30mm deep, which could mean I’m pre-period (as always) or my hormones are out of whack. Asked if they’d tested my insulin when I had the blood test, and she basically told me that Insulin Resistance is *not* PCO related, it’s to do with being overweight. well, even I know being overweight is associated with PCO, so… Anyway, she told me that PCO is only a problem if you are trying to conceive, but if I felt my periods were causing problems, then she could refer me to a gynae. Or I could just leave it. ARGH! You stupid woman!!! why else would I be there, if it weren’t for the fact that my periods are causing me problems?! So, I told her that I did want to get this sorted out. Oh, and she more or less accused me of thinking I was diabetic when I mentioned metformin…. (and at no point did I say that I thought I was, because I know I’m not!) tsk. Is there anyone who can provide me a link to pages which a) link PCO to Insulin Resistance, and b) describe how something like met can control PCO? Many thanks! — Boneist ———— "Scientists have calculated that the chance of anything so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one.
