Anyone get regular periods (naturally)?

Question:

At one time, I didn’t get regular periods.  I was on BCPs for about 4 years until I became irregular on them.  I got frustrated and stopped taking them (after I talked with my gyn).  I had regular periods for a while, then tapered off.  I took Provera for 5 days to "jump start" my body.  Since then I have had fairly regular periods…For me anyway.  I’ll have them about every 6 weeks or so.  Although this last time I was surprised when I started on day 27!!!  A whole day early.  I’m due again on Wednesday and I’m craving Chinese food already….good sign since I only crave it when I have PMS.  :) Tina

Response:

Yes I have got my period every month for the past 7 months .I’m not sure if I’m ovulating though.I’ve just started taking my temperature to find out  as we are hoping to have a baby. Regards Terri

Response:

Jessica, I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS.  I  do have "natural" periods (every couple of months or so). We are trying to have a baby, so I have been charting temps and checking CM.  This is really worth the effort because I know I can ovulate on my own. Since we want to have a baby, my Dr. wants to put me on Clomid to speed up the process.  I will not take this because I know I can ovulate on my own and I can keep track with the temp charts, CM, and other O signs; therefore, we can plan accordingly. I just want to tell you that it is worth the effort to chart your temps now so you and your Dr. will know if you are ovulating when you are ready to conceive. Karin

I also get "natural periods" but no more frequently than 10 weeks apart.  I definitely ovulate with all the cervical mucous and temp changes, but I never get pregnant — been trying for years now. Of course, I didn’t get pregnant with fertility meds either.  Now I am hoping that metrodin, parlodel & low carb diet will do the trick.  I will add fertility meds to this if I still don’t get pregnant. I was diagnosed with PCOS 1.5 years ago, but have NEVER missed a period in my life.  My doctors say there’s no way to know if I’m actually ovulating, though, until I decide I want to try to conceive and do the temperature taking thing and all that.  Just wondering if there are other PCOS people who DO get their periods. Jessica

Response:

I do. I was diagnosed about 5 months ago. I’m 16 but I started my period when I was 11. I’ve only missed 1 or 2. I get them usually every two weeks but I’ve start on BCP because they were always very painful. I’m still on my first pack and started the green pills (where I’m suppose to get my period.) on Sunday. I’m still waiting for my period to come though. —                 the dog is blue – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Llesi wrote: > I was diagnosed with PCOS 1.5 years ago, but have NEVER missed a period in my > life.  My doctors say there’s no way to know if I’m actually ovulating, though, > until I decide I want to try to conceive and do the temperature taking thing > and all that.  Just wondering if there are other PCOS people who DO get their > periods. > Jessica

You can purchase a basal thermometer to test ovulation. Just wondering if there are other PCOS people who DO get their > periods.

Yes, but I’m on Rezulin. ———–== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==———- http://www.dejanews.com/       Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
