hypoglycemia

Question:

Hypoglycemia is part of the Insulin Resistance that is believed to be an underlying cause of PCOS.  It’s possible that you had a lot of carbs the day you had your attack without an adequate amount of protein to counteract.   That’s what usually triggers my attacks.  It can also be tied to hormone fluctuations.  I take Chromium GTF.  It has helped reduce the frequency and severity of my attacks.  Read either the Zone or CAD (Carbohydrates Addicts Diet) books.  They will help explain what is happening in more detail. I am also hypoglycemic, and I find that in addition to carbohydrates bringing it on, also if I am having a lot of stress, that will also trigger it.  You may consider getting glucose tablets to keep in your car so that if you have another attack, you can eat one to boost your sugar, and then get off the road, and get something with protein and low carbs to stabalize you. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -dje wrote: > Hypoglycemia is part of the Insulin Resistance that is believed to be an > underlying cause of PCOS.  It’s possible that you had a lot of carbs the > day you had your attack without an adequate amount of protein to > counteract.   That’s what usually triggers my attacks.  It can also be > tied to hormone fluctuations.  I take Chromium GTF.  It has helped > reduce the frequency and severity of my attacks.  Read either the Zone > or CAD (Carbohydrates Addicts Diet) books.  They will help explain what > is happening in more detail. > Despina decon…@swarthmore.edu > mrmo…@my-dejanews.com wrote: > > I have had this low blood sugar problem for a while, my problem is > > I don’t know what sets it off? the last time it happened I didn’t > > have any problems for months and that day I had eaten ok when I > > was driving on the road I noticed that I was getting very confused > > I started getting severe jitters I pulled over after about 2 hours > > I felt better but aws tired I went to the hospital right away they > > did a glucose test and it was a 3.8 (it is supposed to be between > > 4 and 7) but this was 2 hours after I first felt the symptoms.
