Need to talk
Question:
Maybe it’s that I’m just learning about PCOS. But I am really feeling overwhelmed be this all. How do you all handle this. Not knowing if the doctors are doing the right thing. Not knowing if your doing the right thing. I just want to walk away from this all. I can’t stand it. I was fine knowing I had PCOS until the issue of diabetes came up. It made it all seem so real. I wish there was a book that told you what to do and what not to do. Low night, Donna

Just one day at a time, Donna. To know if your drs. are doing the right thing, become a researcher. Dig up all you can on PCOS and if you think they are not doing the right thing, present them with the data. As for diabetes, since you know you have PCOS you can take measures to help avoid it. I did lots of the wrong things out of ignornance. I don’t feel my life is over because I am diabetic. I read Diabetes Forecast and many people are featured that live with the disorder for years. If a diabetic has good control, they can live as long as anyone else. Receiving early diagnosis and control and are two things that are in my favor healthwise. I know you feel overwhelmed, but at least know you are not alone. Dear Donna, I know your feeling – I wanted it to all go away. However from my research I have learned that the pill is a great treatment which I am currently on and low carb diet will help the mood swings, obesity, diabetes later on and a whole hosts of other ailments like depression. I have found a book by Dr.Hellers -Carbo Addicts lifespan that is fabulous and they address several time pcos and in addition you get to eat and eat good. I have already lost 30 lbs. and no more mood swings. I know I can eat this way my whole life because you really don’t give up anything but you are controlling your insulin levels anyway.
