Question for Bridget

Question:

Hi Bridget, first of all how are you feeling, is that pain gone? I hope so. I am getting smaller I can tell by my clothes, but the scale seems stuck! *LOL* I enter my food on fitday and here are my two week averages, calories 1689, fat 65% (121 g), Carbs 16% (78 g), protein 18% (77g). I know I’m not doing Atkins & obviously, this is working to make me smaller, but I wonder why the pounds aren’t leaving like the fat….I’m rather confounded by this. My average calories is down because I was sick last week & couldn’t eat much. That’s the only reason I can think that the scale won’t move. I know, I’m obsessed. Give me your opinion if you can. Thanks, Lisa

Hi Lisa, thanks for asking about me. I’m ok thanks! If you are getting smaller, who cares what the scale says! And that’s my only opinion :) .. Bridget M. CAD 2/94 LC 7/01

Sometimes, Lisa, when I get sick, my body retains water.  You may be headed for a weight loss soon.  :) Steve

Your body is recomposing. This diet is muscle-sparing, IOW, it doesn’t burn up muscle and conserve fat, like low fat does.  Instead, you are burning fat, and your muscle is getting a chance to be nourished by the protein you are eating.  My apologies to those who can explain it better.  Feel free to correct my answer if it is too awkward.  Muscle weighs more than fat.  If you will read Protien Power, he explains it pretty well.     What plan are you following?                            Hope this helped,                                        Ann   We have enough youth – how about a
