APOLOGY to Group

Question:

I want to apologize for my ranting and raving, generalizing and childish name-calling regarding low-carb diets. What is right for one isn’t right for all, and what works for one doesn’t work for all. My endo. diagnosed me with PCOS almost 18 years ago, and is very tuned in with what the latest treatments are.  She was really excited to know that I’ve had 4 periods from low carb (I’m 37, and have ONLY had medically/chemically induced periods before.) I had a great doctor apointment last night. We discussed the controversies that surround low carbing.  She told me not to let ANYONE convince me to do differently, because all the Glucophage in the world, all the Actos, Avandia, etc. didn’t do ANYTHING for me.   She said that the long-term bad effects of low carbing are truly slim, and worth the risk, because all drugs and herbs have potential side effects, and most people don’t have any problems.  She also said low carbing FOR ME is worth the potential risk because without low carbing, my PCOS symptoms would worsen, and I would be at greater risk than most for diabetes, heart problems, etc. due to PCOS (because the meds don’t work for me). I had some serious PMS a few weeks ago, and I didn’t really realize it.  This is all so new to me! I wish everyone well, and hope my apology is accepted. Regards, Wendy. (I don’t remember which email I posted with, I have a few)

Wendy, That’s truly funny . . . and I wish you lots more bona fide pms ;-)  It can make us say unreasonable things, but it’s so much better than amenorrhea. Good luck to you. Beth
