How in the hell?
Question:
A few years back, right after I graduated from high school I wore a size 24 and weight about 260. Over the course of a year, I still weighed 260, but I had lost 2-3 dress sizes and was wearing an 18-20. I never was able to figure it out. But what happened to you sounds very similar to what I’ve been thru. All of that was before my PCOS symptoms got really bad, and I went off bcp. I gained almost 70 pounds right after I quit taking the pill. I’ve been on Gluco XR for about a month and a half now. I’m not seeing much of a difference except that my insulin has gone from 65 to 45, but my testosterone is still high. Congrats on the loss of 2 dress sizes. I know how good that feels
I always had to remind myself that it really isn’t the weight you are, only if you are happy and healthy. Erin "Theresa Nelson" <missare…@home.com> wrote in message

Ladies, I went to a follow up with my doc today for my Glucophage. He decidedto up my dose to 2000 mg a day because my last period was 31 days ago and my basal chart shows no signs of ovulation. But here’s the kicker: my skin has cleared, facial hair was never really heavy except the brows and that has not grown back as fast and get this: I’ve dropped two dress sizes and according to their scale…have not lost one single pound since January. How in the hell do you do that? I totally understand the whole muscle and toning thing but the scale does have to move BACK sometime or another. And another shocker: my doc said he usually doesn;t see his Gluco patients lose weight until they’ve been on Gluco for SIX months. I don’t have a speedy metabolism or anything. Any ideas? All I can think about today is how that extra 500 mg a day can contribute to another two dress sizes. Theresa

I don’t know how they do it in the docs office but I know my scale at home used to be right on, with it in the office. By my scale I have went from 239 to 216 since February 14th and I was 239 by their scale too. My last appointment at the doc’s office it said that I had only lost 10 pounds. I like my scale better
I sometimes wonder if it because so many people use the scale? Could it be that the measures go "off track" or something? I don’t know. Congrats on the weight loss though!!! 2 dress sizes, that is great. The one thing that got me was I had to buy a new pair of walking shoes and guess what? I didn’t have to buy WIDE WIDTH!!! Awesome. Are you following any new "way of life" eating habits? I just started drinking TONS AND TONS of water, eating less carbs, and smaller portions of meals with a lot of salads. I also started writing everything down that I eat and how it makes me feel, that way if I feel yucky, I know to stay away from it. Today was a bad day and I had too many carbs. I can really tell the difference, I am tired and don’t want to do much and I am craving sweets SOOO bad so I just grabbed another bottle of water to fill myself up, so I can’t eat any sweets. So what are you doing different? Anything special? Take Care, Tracy – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Theresa Nelson wrote: > Ladies, > I went to a follow up with my doc today for my Glucophage. Nope, nothing special. Been eating the same Frosted mini wheats for breakfast for more than five years. I was exercising before my gall bladder surgery which was in April and I’ve always been a water chugger. But, I haven’t exercised at the Y since the surgery and it was after that when the dress sizes dropped. Must be the Gluco doing something. Although I do need to work on toning my asssssssss…and hips. I hate them. Theresa – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Trasea1 wrote: > I don’t know how they do it in the docs office but I know my scale at home > used to be right on, with it in the office.
