Migraines W/endo
Question:
I suspect I have waht is called Aura without migraine….. I have all the fun symptoms of not wanting to be touched, lights hurting myeyes, sounds and odors setting me on edge and pushing me over hte edge, as well as feeling lik emy brain is liberally wrapped in cotton candy or quilt batting. I seldom get pain (although more and more I’m getting pain) in teh traditional sense with these but I usually do get this weird kinda of "I feel funky in my gut" type pain thing….I liken it to most people reacting to nails on a chalk board. I’ve not seen a doc about this and I don’t know if I will anytime soon. Other than driving my other half nuts and occassionally making me so unsociable that work is not a good thing, it’s not really interrupting my life too much and the last thing I want is a technical pre-existing condition until after I’m already on good health insurance. I have a friend who has more traditional migraines and PCOS and she has found relief lately from something that has the word Max in it…I cant’ remember teh full name…..she has had the best relief from preventive measures…..once she gets caught in teh pain, she’s there….. HTH at leasta little, Tricia (t.f.o.) HI,All, I just found this message board a few days ago.I am 25,I found out 5 years ago I have endo,in 96′ I had a lap and then I too Lupron for three, whichI wish I knew what I know now about it and would not have took it.Anyway I was pretty much pain free for almost 3 years, then a few months ago I starte hurting. My questiondoes anyone else get migraines w/ endo.Last weekend I had one so bad it lasted for 3 days I could not standlight, noise and was sick to my stomach, the dr called in a pain medit helped a little and the Thursday it started again.I missed work yesterday and the doc had to call stronger pain pills. This is horriable.Sorry so long thanks for listening to me.Thanks,Tammy Before you buy.

Hi Tammy– I don’t have migraines, and I thank God for it–but my mom (who also has endo) has terrible migraines. At least some are hormonally related; she gets one on the day before her period starts, like clockwork. :( I’ve heard a lot of other women with endo have migraines as well. I tell ya, it just never ends with this disease! :P What pain relievers are you taking? My mom and a friend of mine who has migraines have both had good results with Imitrex. My mom takes the pills, and my friend has tried the nasal spray. Actually, I’ve heard quite a few women here in the newsgroup say they’ve had success with the nasal spray, too. I hope you are successful in finding the best treatment for you! ~Jackie
