I would say it was a risk, but not for certain. A person may not get worse than what they are now or the bottom may drop out later. These things are so hard to predict. If a person does have knowledge on their side, they can do what they can to control their symptoms. Whether one is in danger of diabetes or not, they should treat the hypos because when you are experiencing a hypo the brain is being starved. The best antidote is frequent snacks. My sister, who has been hypo for over 20 years, eats snacks all day long. She has been infertile, but she is skinny. (But then again, I was much slimmer until a few years ago when the bottom dropped out, so to speak) She doesn’t like to discuss the subject, so I don’t know if her dr. has considered PCOS as the reason, it may be something else. She just won’t talk about it. If it is PCOS, then she doesn’t have many of the common symptoms such as weight gain or facial hair, but she has been prone to breakouts, she is infertile and her periods have been infrequent. She has only gotten pregnant twice in many years of trying and miscarried both times. ^–^ Cathy {‘ . ‘} ` Life’s a dance you learn as you go-sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow. Untreated hypoglycemia can eventually lead to diabetes in ANY person…male, female, PCOS or not!
