Obstetrical Ultrasound?

The cysts are just one possible symptom. People get the idea that you *have* to have them due to the name of the disorder.  It is very common to have them, but *not* having them doesn’t mean you don’t have the syndrome PCOS.  ^—^ Cathy { ‘ . ‘ }       `  Those who play with cats must expect to be scratched. 4Cysters: http://pages.ivillage.com/bh/cystercat Other pages: http://peaceonearth.faithweb.com http://littlec.faithweb.com http://www.i-love-cats.com/meow/cat

Thanks guys,   I knew that and I also told her that the Original name for PCOS is Stein-Leventhal and that cysts on ovaries are just a symptom. I also told her that I thought the doc was more curious about my uterus, tubes and such for lack of cycles. She was really very nice about everything but I did not get to see anything she would not let me look or anything…So here is the waiting game again, waiting for Doc to call me (that could take weeks)…But I will hang in there… God Bless, TracyP Cathy the Cat Loving Cyster wrote: – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> >They probably didn’t see any cysts….I don’t have them either….don’t feel > >so bad. They probably didn’t see any cysts….I don’t have them either….don’t feel so bad. You don’t need ovarian cysts to have PCOS…it’s been proven. It was just a couple of pco-ignorant technicians, that’s all. Be thankful that you have a doctor that knows about it! Tracy Parrott <tr…@mobiletel.com> wrote in message

Well I went in and you were right it was the jelly belly one :) I am pretty confused though because the people that do the ultrasound is not my doc and they give my doc the info and then she calls me and lets me know what the results were… Though the technician was asking pretty strange questions.. She asked me "who diagnosed you with PCOS’? I told her who did it and that the doc was in the womens clinic and then she asked me "How did she diagnose you with lab work or what"? I told her with my physical appearance and with bloodwork and I told her every test that I had done and she said ok and then pulled another technician in to look at my ovaries and whatever else they were looking at. She then proceeded to tell him that I had been diagnosed with PCOS and he said something to the effect of "well maybe they diagnosed her while she was ovulating" I said that was impossible unless women can ovulate and not have a cycle for 4 years. He looked at me like I was lying… They would not tell me anything and I am pretty freaked out by the whole situation. I want to know what they saw !!! Oh Well, I think I am going to go to go and rent a sad movie and cry all night…Anybody have any clues to what they saw? Just curious. I have had many of these ultrasounds.  It’s the first way they diagnosed my PCO. The first tme I went, I to was supposed to drink alot of water (64 oz).  The water is used to fill your bladder and push your uterus up (to do a belly ultrasound).  When I got there, she tried this but there still wasn’t enough water in my bladder for a good picture.  That’s when they do a vaginal ultrasound.  They use a vaginal probe(kinda looks like a skinny vibrator(sorry)) when gell at the tip and what looks like a long condom over it.  They get a better picture this way. This is all my doctor does now. (and I have one every time I go in)  It’s really not that uncomfortable. They can use the ultrasound to see if your getting ready to ovulate, to watch the follicle(s) grow. Hope this helps. Tracy Parrott <tr…@mobiletel.com> wrote in message

I should have posted this earlier but here I am a couple of hours before I actually leave. I am scheduled for an obstetrical Ultrasound today and am just curious about what it is usually used for. Baby’s? I have heard of so many different ultrasounds.I have asked my doc to give me an ultrasound to look at my ovaries and uterine lining so I know why she is doing this. Just curious as to which kind of ultrasound it is. Is this the one they put jelly on your belly? LOL (sorry sounded funny) It says that I have to drink 32 ounces of water an hour before I have to go in. This is not a prob for me all I drink is water and nothing else. I hope you all can answer this before I go… God Bless, TracyP

Well, seeing as when you have a trans-vaginal they want you to totally empty your bladder, i would say that it is the jelly-belly kind :) "Tracy Parrott" <tr…@mobiletel.com> wrote in message
