clomid
Question:
Hi Again, Yep I’m using them……they are so expensive though. But at least witht the Clomid you sort of know when you are going to ovulate so it’s a little easier to time the use of the kits. I hope to have some good news soon too!! Good luck to us both!! :) Kris "Tom T." <tthiesNOS…@seasurf.net> wrote in message

Are you charting your temps or keeping track of cm? That would definitely assist you in pinpointing exact day of ovulation and also help in conception. Do you know for sure that your luteal phase is 14 days? If not, you may not have to wait that long. Luteal phase is 11-14 days on average. I strongly suggest _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. It’s a must read for all women. Shannon "Elyann Katz" <ely…@starpower.net> wrote in message

I also had good results with clomid. Clomid will stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs. It can over stimulate the ovaries and cause multiples–though the rates are not as high as I expected it to be. If you begin ttc take it look at the info sheet if you are worried about the rate of multiples (I freaked because one friend said to me "I don’t know anybody who took clomid who had only one, they all had twins"). However, the first time I took clomid I had a heteroectopic pregnancy (odds 1 in 40,000). Two eggs were fertilized: I miscarried one and the other was in my tubes. I then had to wait three months to try again (because of the drug I was given for the tubal) and the second month on clomid that time I got pg. So, I would say the success rate is quite good with some woman and PCO. I have heard that part of it is related to whether you get very infrequent heavy periods vs. no periods at all (I have the latter). Also, I could never get an answer as to whether the odds for a heteroectopic pg go up if you are on clomid (the dr. never looked and I never did research because I wasn’t interested). It certainly complicated things whenever someone took my medical history. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Penguin wrote: > I am not ttc but I am wondering how does clomid work? has there been good > things come from it? It’s supposed to stimulate the ovaries but it doesn’t always work. I got hyperstimulation syndrome from it, after one of the cysts burst and they had to clean it all up, they wouldn’t let me try anymore IVF (of any type). Wanda "Penguin" <mamapengui…@prodigy.net> wrote in message

Hi, I’m new to this group and I wanted to ask you a question since you’ve used Clomid b4. I’m on my first cycle of of it now (I’ve been diagnosed with a milder case of PCOS) and after my sonogram today they said my follicles aren’t yet ready. When you started taking Clomid did you actually ovulate the first month? They said I might not. Also, since I don’t get my period on my own I was wondering if you found that the Clomid made you regular? Did it bring on your period without medical help? (I took Prometrium to bring on a period b4 the Clomid) Right now I’m on 50mg/day on days 5-9 on my cycle. I’m on CD14 and not yet ovulating. Anyway, I’m hopeful that this protocol will work but any advice from you would be great! Thanks! :) Kristen "Elyann Katz" <ely…@starpower.net> wrote in message

as I recall, I ovulated around day 17 or 18. Also, if you are using an ovulator predictor kit, I could never get those things to read correctly. Which is why I joke that I can’t figure out when I conceived my son. We had the temps, we knew when I ovulated (we think) and when I took the clomid, however, it never added up to me. I was on some form of progesterone the month before because I had an abnormally long cycle (my theory was a chemical pg and the aftereffects of taking progesterone and then withdrawing it). That may have helped hyper stimulate me. I can’t tell you whether it made me more regular since I was on it one cycle the first time and then after a break after the tubal two cycles; so only three total. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Kristen wrote: > Hi, > I’m new to this group and I wanted to ask you a question since you’ve used > Clomid b4. Kristen, I concieved the first time around with my 1st baby, 50mg. This time it isnt so easy. Did the 50mg and nothing. Now I am onto 50mg and Metformin. Currently I am taking Provera to start my darn cycle. Dont let it get you down if you dont concieve the first time (easier said than done right!) From what I have read, most PCO’ers have to do a few cycles with Clomide. Ask your doc about taking robitussin to thin your CM as clomide thickens it making it harder to get pg. Thanks for all the imput. I actually read about taking Robitussin a few months back and I have been taking 2tsp. 3X/day since 3days after my last Clomid tablet. Figure it can’t hurt, anything to help the process along works for me! :) Thanks again and good luck to you too Tonya! Kris "Tom T." <tthiesNOS…@seasurf.net> wrote in message

Basal thermometers are usually in the pharmacy. I got mine at the A&P, but had to ask the pharmacist for it. Maureen

Hi I have just completed my first cycle of clomid. I went to the doctor 6 days ago (day 28 of the cycle) and he confirmed that I had ovulated. He said that if I didn’t have a period by day 30-31 that I should take a pregnancy test. If I did have period, I would then start the next clomid cycle. Well, it’s now day 34, I am not pregnant and I have yet to see a period. What could explain this? I am really worried. I will call my doctor tomorrow but I would appreciate any thoughts or insight from anyone in this group… thank you myra
Response:
Myra, When I take Clomid I ovulate very late (around day 18-19). Which causes my cycle to be around 33-34 days. I know some people taking clomid ovualte even later (and some earlier)-it all just depends on your body. Was the Dr. able to estimate your day of ovulation? Because if so you should see your period apx. 14 days after. I hope this helps. I know it’s very frustrating because instead of the dreaded "2 week wait", mine is always closer to 3. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -myra wrote in message <36FE593E.F42E2…@uwindsor.ca>… >Hi >I have just completed my first cycle of clomid. Myra, Did you do an hpt? Test again to be sure. I chart my temps and so I know I o’d on day 18 or 19. I’m on my second cycle of clomid at 50mg. My cycles run from 28 days to 42 days. Mary

Hi Mary, Thanks for the info. I did one hpt yesterday and will try again tomorrow. But I do feel relieved by the responses I have received that indicate that it’s possible that my period will start after day 35…. I probably should be thinking about taking my temperature regularly as well when i start the next clomid cycle! This is all so nerve-wracking!

It took six months on clomid for me to ovulate for the first time. Until last month every time I concieved on clomid (twins adn m/c). Last month I ovualted but did not concieve and that scares me more. I just started on Clomid on Sunday again. Where can you buy a basal thermometer? What department are they in, feminine or with all the other thermometers? Jennifer Alexandria and Victoria 1/25/96 m/c 10/98

Well,I called my nurse who forgot to call in my clomid and she didn’t call me back for 5hrs.Can ya’ll believe that? She was the only one working. When the pharmacy paged the dr.the other day it was her because the dr.’s out of town and leaves her there to treat people.I wrote down what I wanted to ask her and made her talk about it.I didn’t know I was supposed to take both clomid pills together because the pharmacy or her didn’t tell me.I had to pick up 5 more pills because she had only called in 50mg.and I was doubling up.My ins.almost didn’t cover because they thought I was getting too much, but they called them and covered it.I asked her about doing the u/s with hcg inj.on day 15 if I hadn’t o’d and she said we could do whatever I wanted it just costs a little more(150extra).I asked her if she thought we should since my egg didn’t come out and she said it would probably be a good idea since I had the cyst last time and am upping the mg.this time. She said we would need to do it on day12because day 15would be too late.I wasn’t sure weather to do it or not,but I think I might.Has anyone had that done?Robin
Response:
My RE upped my dose to 150 mg this month and I actually had less side effects than I did last month on 100mg. I go in this morning for day 12 ultrasound and HCG shot if everything is okay. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Ortiz wrote in message <3737AFA3.90F4…@prodigy.net>… >Well,I called my nurse who forgot to call in my clomid and she didn’t >call me back for 5hrs.Can ya’ll believe that? She was the only one >working. When the pharmacy paged the dr.the other day it was her because >the dr.’s out of town and leaves her there to treat people.I wrote down >what I wanted to ask her and made her talk about it.I didn’t know I was >supposed to take both clomid pills together because the pharmacy or her >didn’t tell me.I had to pick up 5 more pills because she had only called >in 50mg.and I was doubling up.My ins.almost didn’t cover because they >thought I was getting too much, but they called them and covered it.I >asked her about doing the u/s with hcg inj.on day 15 if I hadn’t o’d and >she said we could do whatever I wanted it just costs a little >more(150extra).I asked her if she thought we should since my egg didn’t >come out and she said it would probably be a good idea since I had the >cyst last time and am upping the mg.this time. She said we would need to >do it on day12because day 15would be too late.I wasn’t sure weather to >do it or not,but I think I might.Has anyone had that done?Robin
