Dexamethasone?
Question:
Has anyone been on dexamethasone in preparation for injectables/IUI? I was told it suppresses the adrenal gland and assume it has something to do with my PCOS. I’m still a little fuzzy on exactly why I’m taking it–and how long I’ll need to. Any insights/experiences? Response:
I took Dexamethisone 0.5mg. daily for three months. My Gyn put me on it. My RE had a fit when I went to see him. My RE took me off of it and told me that using Dexamethisone was an old practice and the benifits of taking it were not enough. He has done alot of research in the Dexamethisone area. I gained almost 60 pounds in a little over three months. My RE said it was due to the Dexamethisone. This is just my personal experience and you need to do what makes you comfortable.I was on Clomid with the Dexamethisone. I have severe PCOS and am doing Gonal/HCG/IUI/Progestrone supp. 200mg x daily/Glucopage 1500mg. We just finished our fourth round and I am in the wonderful two week wait. Good Luck, Tammy
