glucose tolerance test?

That’s how it has worked for me. By the time I found out about PCOS and saw an RE, I was in the early stages of diabetes. Metformin has regulated blood sugars and given me regular periods. Cathy, After reading many of your postings I am starting to think that we were separated at birth. 
I’m still waiting to hear from the lab to schedule the GTT.. it’s been a week since I left my name and #.. sheeesh Jill

No doubt we share some genetic traits, ie the "thrifty gene" which would have helped us survive in caveman times but just causes all kinds of trouble today. I am going in for a glucose tolerance test to see if I am insulin resistant sometime the first week of March. What should I be asking my dr and what numbers should I be looking for, etc.? I know that the test is important but I know nothing else about it so if anyone knows of a website that would help me, I’d appreciate it! Thanks, Karen http://members.truepath.com/My_Hope/karen.html

I know that the test is important but I know nothing else >> Hi Karen, I am going for exactly the same thing (if the testing facility EVER calls me back…) My fasting glucose was high on my initial test so my RE wants the GTT to determine if I am diabetic.
