glucose tolerance test?

That’s how it has worked for me.  By the time I found out about PCOS and saw an RE, I was in the early stages of diabetes.  Metformin has regulated blood sugars and given me regular periods.  Something I have NEVER had since age 11.  ^—^ Cathy { ‘ . ‘ }       `  Those who play with cats must expect to be scratched. 4Cysters: http://pages.ivillage.com/bh/cystercat Other pages: http://peaceonearth.faithweb.com http://littlec.faithweb.com http://www.i-love-cats.com/meow/cat

No doubt we share some genetic traits, ie the "thrifty gene" which would have helped us survive in caveman times but just causes all kinds of trouble today. I hope you can get your GTT scheduled soon and be on your way to controlling PCOS>  ^—^ Cathy { ‘ . ‘ }       `  Those who play with cats must expect to be scratched. 4Cysters: http://pages.ivillage.com/bh/cystercat Other pages: http://peaceonearth.faithweb.com http://littlec.faithweb.com http://www.i-love-cats.com/meow/cat

I am going in for a glucose tolerance test to see if I am insulin resistant sometime the first week of March.  What should I be asking my dr and what numbers should I be looking for, etc.?  I know that the test is important but I know nothing else about it so if anyone knows of a website that would help me, I’d appreciate it! Thanks, Karen http://members.truepath.com/My_Hope/karen.html
