Hi, There are two excellent docs in NYC. Dr. Walter Futterweit, a medical endocrinologist who specializes in PCOS. He is definately met friendly! (see post by NYCTwinMum 7/29 re: Good Doc Appt.). The other doc is Dr. Rogerio Lobo. He is an RE/OB/GYN. Dr. Futterweit’s telephone number is 212-876-6400, Dr. Lobo’s is 212-305-2377. Dr. F is affiliated with Mt. Siani and Dr. L with Colombia Pres.

I can help you in the lower Virginia area, Hampton Roads. I dont know if my doctor could recommend someone up there or not, or whether you might want to go through what I did to find my doctor. Hi, I’m looking for a doctor who’s open to PCOS treatment. I have one, but she’s very busy and wants me to go through months off the pill first to "see what happens" without meds, even though she already thinks I have PCOS. I need someone who might be more open to trying me on Metformin, Spiro, or addressing the situation promptly. ‘Please forward you recommendations. Thanks. (Oh…..I’m near the Washington, DC or Baltimore areas, and may have some access to NYC).
