someone like me!!

Question:

Hi all, and Happy Holidays!         I just had to share this with all of you…today I went to the beauty shop for a hair cut and manicure, and I met another person who also has PCOS- diagnosed and everything!  I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago, and with the exception of 3 days in 1996 at the first PCOSA conference held in Baltimore, I have NEVER met another person who has this stuff. I can’t begin to describe how I felt!  It’s probably silly, but it sure felt….good.           I have been alone with this for 20 years, and thanks to the Internet, Dateline, and PCOSA, I’m finding out that I’m not alone, after all. (Yes, I know all of you are real, but you know what I mean…)         I’m sure I’ll get lots of goodies for Christmas, but I think the best gift of all was sitting in the next chair, looking at me like I was looking at her!!!         Have a Happy, Ya’ll!! Barbara

I have 4 friends with pco that I have only met in the past few years.  I agree with you that it really makes a difference knowing other people who are dealing with the same issues as you.  I especially like having them to go clothes shopping with because they are all apples like me and we can discuss our clothing sizes without being embarrassed! Ya know, I;m getting to be an apple myself… I have gained 50 pounds since I got married four years ago thanks to PCOS.  I never did have a tiny waist or anything, but I did used to have one… now, especially after having a baby (10 mths ago) my waist is so far gone!  I really think I still look pregnant, even though I weigh a little less now than I did before I got pregnant!  What kind of clothes can we wear with shape body? and look nice?  I am only 5′2, so everything is too long on me too… and I am too big now to fit in petite size clothes.  I was a size 12, now I wear anything from a women’s soze 20 to size 24 (XL to 2X) depending on the make of the clothes.  It is so frustrating, I hate the way I look now.   ************************************ God Bless You  <*(((><       Carrie   ;o)~    from Oklahoma Carrie’s Home Page (PCOS) http://hometown.aol.com/cbraly2000/home.index.html For info. on treatment of PCOS with the drug Metformin go to this site… http://www.ivf.com/pcostreat.html
