A Confession

Question:

I weigh myself on the first day of every month.  I won’t bore everyone again with why I don’t weigh more often than this, but it’s what works for me. J 233/208/136 – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hey good idea Janice…I will have to try that.   Your next weigh in is April 1st…how often do you weigh yourself? Raven — 210/186/150 (first goal) Low-Fat WOE Favorite web site: www.dietwatch.com Because my WOE is low fat, I do stir fried vegetables in my wok with soya sauce instead of oil.  It works really well, and gives them a nice flavour.

I really like cabbage. I’ve been using up a small head of cabbage every week or so lately. I usually chop up a couple of cups of cabbage and add it to just about every pot of soup or stewI make. George 335/312/ask me when I get to 200 I’ve tried cabbage different ways and the only way I could eat it is in egg rolls. Why should Blue cheese dress. be a no-no???….There are fat free brands that are pretty darn good.  I personally like Ken’s Steak House Fat Free Blue cheese..mmmm. ~ Hoolihan – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hey, I got no problem with you liking iceberg.  Strikes me as a harmless habit. Just don’t consider it a major source of vitamins, that’s all…  I agree. I use lettuce salads as filler only unless they are chocked full of other vegetables. And we’ve had those "lowfat" dressing discussions here…my salads mostly go bare unless I want something like lemon juice or salsal on them. That was all my mom used for salad…..When I lived at home..I ate what mom cooked….( lots of it by the way! ).  I didnt know what fresh mushrooms looked like..  Veggies for the most part came out a can — not a garden.  But when I moved out and began doing things for myself…I saw these nice fresh veggies in the supermaket and just started experimenting…. I dont know if iceburg lettuce has any more or less nutrients/vitamins/minerals etc than the stuff that sometimes looks like grass clippings but like what you like…If you want to try the other kinds..make a mix ..put a small amount in with the iceburg.  But dont feel like you HAVE to like the "fancy" stuff….Some people go to baskin robbins and get vanilla — not that there is anything wrong with vanilla, but you know what I mean. Now mom asks ME how to cook green beans from "scratch". 5′6" 312(52)-244(44)-160(38?)-work pants size ( Longing to be the woman I was, not the woman I could be! ) *1999* My Millenium Makeover In Progress Losing the weight is only step one. Raven, here are 30 smacks with raw bacon!.  Actually, I kind of like it too, except for the white parts.  That is to bitter to me.  My favorite salad used to be a wedge of iceberg with French dressing.  now, I usually use romaine because it is more nutritionally dense.  But iceberg is still up there with things I like. — claudia 550/386/157  A malcontent and proud of it!  Low fat rocks! I was just being silly. I like anything that will fill the empty spot before my main meal so I can stick with my WOE which is portion control. *If* I eat a salad first I have lees trouble with overfilling my plate. Iceberg lettuce to me tastes like ranch dressing. Frank

I :::gulp::: confess that I like it, too.  To be honest, it’s always been my preferred carrier for salad dressing <grin.   Now that I’m off heavy dressings I find it a little bland, but I still like it’s juicy crunchy "thickness". I DON’T like floppy lettuce – the only leaf lettuce that I really get into is the stuff I grow myself, because I can rush it into the house and eat it before it dehydrates! Actually, it isn’t good for rabbit food.  If you feed your rabbit too much iceberg lettice it will die of starvation.  Believe it or not, but rabbits need well ballanced diets too. :)                         Nyla Melcher Bright 256.5/224/150 Moving down again!!!
