chocolate bark?
Question:
A few days (weeks?) ago, someone posted a great-looking chocolate/cocoa butter bark recipe. I saved it, and then my saved mail folder got blown away.. I searched all over every web-based recipe site I’ve got bookmarked, and I also searched AltaVista until my eyes crossed. Could anyone be so kind as to email it to me, or repost the recipe to the list??? In need of chocolate (and yes, I LOVE Lynne’s chocolate!) variety.. -Kathleen
Response:
Yes, but you failed to search the "One Click Archives" of the Lowcarb Retreat. There is a reason why it is called the gateway to the lowcarb universe. When you lose your lowcarb links always look to the retreat first. "Its in there."

Kathleen, haha…my son is doing a project for school titled: Fat: It Does a Body Good He laughed and laughed when I showed him my cocoa butter stash…said the lecture in class today was how bad the stuff is for a person. He’s bringing that in as one valid option to increasing fats in the diet.
Anyway, I don’t have that recipe, but it sounds good…I’ll be looking for it, too. Lynne 170 pounds lost the lowcarb way–maintaining since Feb ‘97

I’ll be curious about the grade he gets on his project. It reminds of the project my mom did in college for a marketing class. She had to take a product not currently in vogue (this was in the 40’s) and develop a marketing strategy for making it popular. She chose quilts as her product and came up with a campaign to make quilts popular. She got a "D" on the paper. The professor wrote on the paper that her marketing campaign itself was excellent which was why he did not flunk her outright but the idea of quilts ever becoming popular was so ludicrous that he had to give her a D because of her poor judgement. Not always easy to go against the "popular wisdom" of the day. — Debbie Cusick I plan to be a procrastinator some day if I ever get around to it. : Kathleen, haha…my son is doing a project for school titled: : Fat: It Does a Body Good : He laughed and laughed when I showed him my cocoa butter stash…said Ohh.. this brings up a good question — do you have a good resource for bulk cocoa butter that you prefer? I’ve fond a few, but am hesitant to order cocoa butter in bulk, so far. I ordered roughly a pound from one of the more well-known LowCarb websites and haven’t tried it yet. Does it go bad quickly, or is it something that can be stored in a cool, dry place for ages? Of course, I’m not sure how long it would stay around.. <G : the lecture in class today was how bad the stuff is for a person. : He’s bringing that in as one valid option to increasing fats in the : diet.
As Debbie, I am curious how his teacher will take his paper — isn’t it a shame that schools still propogate such information? -Kathleen 272/244/150, lowcarbing on and off since Feb/99, after a long "off" from 98.

It’s bad for her but I’m still laughing. Homemade quilts from the 1940’s, even the not very good ones, are worth 100’s of dollars now. Older ones even more. Even if they’re falling apart. Kathy, Currently, I buy the NOW 5 oz containers from my local health food store. Pricey (about $5) but a container lasts about 6 months at the rate I use it. I have some bulk stuff coming to try, but for that, I had to buy a large minimum and find a friend with a business license to order it for me. So…I ordered enough for life. <G Lynne
Response:
LOL. Having a son myself I can relate to this. I wonder how he accomplishes anything at college without me there to nag him? I think his girlfriend is doing it instead. When they went to lunch with me a few weeks ago she was reminding him that he needed to sign up for his summer courses as soon as they got back to school. :-) — Debbie Cusick I plan to be a procrastinator some day if I ever get around to it.
