Question:

Hi again!  I hope you don’t mind my questions, but i was wondering, for all of you that are on the low carbo WOL (I picked that up, thanks!) did you quit carbos cold turkey or did you wean yourself off them? -Callie

I quit cold turkey. It seemed to work best for me. I do better if I am trying to stop something by not having any of it. I must say though…….I was very weak, dis-oriented, lethargic…..what ever you want to call it, for about 4-7 days. Once I started taking the vitamins and drinking water like a fish I felt alot better. I have lost 17-19 lbs since I started on January 11. I seem to be in a stall though. I have been at this weight for a few weeks now. I must be doing something wrong. I dont like to have to write down all that I am eating or keep track of the calories. But I think I will find what I am doing wrong that way. Goodluck to you! I’m on the Carbohydrate Addict’s LifeSpan Program, and you don’t have to "wean yourself" off carbs on that WOL.  You are allowed to have carb-rich foods at one meal a day, and that meal has to be a balanced of protein, carb-rich foods, and low-carb veggies. This balance keeps one’s insulin and cravings in check. Some people say they need to go on a true LOW carb plan in order to lose their carb cravings, but CALP works for me.  I have some kind of bread every night at dinner, and sometimes a dessert or fruit, but my sweet tooth has gone WAY down on this plan.  I just don’t want the stuff so much any more. For more info, see www.carbohydrateaddicts.com I’m losing a little more than 1/2 pound per week on this plan, which is fine for me because I don’t have THAT much to lose.  The CALP authors say to shoot for 1/2 – 2 lbs. loss per week.  If I were losing more than that, I’d find that scary. From one day to the next I went down to around 20-30 carbohydrate g. per day. I have no idea how much I was consuming before – probably in the 150-250 g. per day.  I think it would be extremely hard to "wean yourslf off them" unless you cut out pastas, chips, bread and snacky sugary carbs and concentrated on consuming only fruits and vegetable.  I don’t get cravings after veggies and fruits –  but then, YMMV. did you quit > carbos cold turkey or did you wean yourself off them? > -Callie

I started Sugarbusters and was real weak, tired, too.  How many carbs do you take in/day? ChrissirhC wrote in message
