Cyst before IVF Question
Question:
<<Has this every happened to anyone and does anyoen know what causes it??? It depends on what kind of cyst you’re talking about. Dermoid, follicular, etc. I know at least one person that got pg via IVF with a dermoid ovarian cyst. Not sure what causes them. Regarding follicular cysts (caused by the prior month’s ovulation…usually as a result of superovulation, especially in those w/pcos), it’s common practice to wait until the cyst is less than 10mm before starting another round of IUI (medicated) or IVF. With my last IVF, I had a cyst at my baseline ultrasound that was 10mm, but went ahead w/the IVF (was successful ….but didn’t make half the number of eggs that I usually do…). I get folllicular cysts after EVERY medicated cycle, and 19 times out of 20, I had to sit out a month in between, so they’d go away. There are several other types of cysts as well, but I can’t really help, there. I’m sorry that your IVF is delayed. What a bummer. I sure hope they go away soon. -Kay

Hi Everyone: Hoping someone has some experience with this. I am getting ready to start an IVF cycle and I went in for an exam before starting the Lupron. My RE saw a cyst on my right ovary that shouldn’t be here and wasn’t there in April. My left ovary had a cyst also but he said that was from ovulation. He told me that it has to go away soon or I can’t continue with this cycle. Has this every happened to anyone and does anyoen know what causes it??? I am so upset right now I was really looking forward to starting this IVF. ARRRGGHHHH Kim
