My own RE said I could take XR twice a day as opposed to Gluco 3 times a day if I wished. It is supposed to stay in your system longer, so you should need less medicine. You dr. is giving you less in terms of milligrams, but not frequency. I myself decided to stick with my regular meds for now. Some people report fewer GI effects with the XR. I never had many with the regular met anyway. ^—^ Cathy { ‘ . ‘ } ` Those who play with cats must expect to be scratched. 4Cysters: http://pages.ivillage.com/cystercat Other pages: http://peaceonearth.faithweb.com http://littlec.faithweb.com http://www.i-love-cats.com/meow/cat

That doesn’t sound right. My RE said once a day for insulin resistance. Donna

Mine said twice a day if I took it, but I would be taking less milligrams. Right now I take 850 x 3 a day. Some people are more IR than others. Most diabetics only need to take it once a day, but then most diabetics do not take as many milligrams as PCOS patients to induce ovulation. My FIL has type 2 diabetes that is more severe than mine, but only takes 500 milligrams daily. I could control my bs on that, but would not have a period. ^—^ Cathy { ‘ . ‘ } ` Those who play with cats must expect to be scratched. 4Cysters: http://pages.ivillage.com/cystercat Other pages: http://peaceonearth.faithweb.com http://littlec.faithweb.com http://www.i-love-cats.com/meow/cat

Why didn’t someone tell me. Has anyone seen the tablets for gloucophage XR? They are hugh. My RE said my dosage was once a day. He neglected to tell me it was 3 hugh pills a one time. I guess this is better, not sure though. I will let you know when I start it. Donna
