Question:

hi! a friend suggested this place to me.. i went in on monday for testing.. to see if i have pcos. so i’m not even for sure, yet. but it seems likely since my mom has it and i’m hairy like a dog ;) i’m no good at introductions.. but.. i was wondering.. how you delt with the stress of having to wait for test results? i think i’ll have to wait a month. i’m not sure. i’ll see him again in a month. and he did 17 different blood tests on me to check out everything in the known universe, i guess. is that normal? seems like a lot. so uhm.. yeah. i’m stumbling through this whole thing ;) as you can see. hi! ~becky~

Hi Becky,   Welcome to our humble home, I mean NG..LOL. I don’t remember how many tests exactly I had done the first time but I know it was alot. Is your doc pretty up to date on treatments and stuff? Have you been with this doc a long time? I know your new and just getting started so I hope you stick around but hate to have to see you here if you know what I mean…It sounds promising that your doc is testing you for everything under the sun. Sounds like he/she means business. Did he give you a list of the tests that he is having done on you? Just curious. Make sure they test your fasting insulin. Alot of us are insulin resistant. Best advice I can give you? Please educate yourself as much as possible on PCOS so that when the doc talks to you, you actually know what he is saying and what he means..I hope that didn’t sound bad. I mean alot of ladies don’t know they have this so what ever doc does or says is gospel. Sometimes they are correct sometimes they are wrong. I hope all goes well and you don’t have it but stick around. I can guarentee you will learn that is for sure..:) Again, Welcome Becky!! well. hi :) i just met the guy on monday.. my normal doc (who is wonderful) sent me up there.. mildly inconvenient since i’m in olympia, wa, and he’s in tacomaaaaa.. but oh well. he did say that with the treatments, he could get rid of most of my extra hair and clear my skin and make my life happy. i think he has a magic wand. i don’t know what he’s testing me for, no. i’m so terrified of needles that i ask no questions and just try not to die ;) and yeah, i’ve learned plenty already – mainly that i really don’t want this. they all think i have it, though. mom had it and other ovarian things so bad that she has none anymore. they’re removed.. she had a cyst the size of a softball that burst.. so.. you might guess i’m more than a little nervous about following in her medical footsteps. i’ll sputter much until i can actually no for sure so i can calm down and get to business dealing with whatever.. or celebrating. luckily i’m only 19 so i’m not worrying about getting pregnant or anything yet. thank you :) On Fri, 15 Dec 2000 01:09:20 -0600, Trasea1 <tras…@hotmail.com> shared with us all: – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Hi Becky, >  Welcome to our humble home, I mean NG..LOL. >I don’t remember how many tests exactly I had done the first time but I >know it was alot.
