Kidney Scan
Question:
Hello All, Colin the Lurker here again. A Type 2 person. Can you tell me what a Kidney Scan involves please? If you say it’s a scan of the kidneys……You will lose your supply of steamed syrup suet pudding covered in a chocolate sauce. hi hi My doc says test results indicate my kidneys are breaking down, he then went on to throw in the words, dialysis and transplant. Bugger me I thought, how very handy!! So, now got this scan coming up. What is the procedure? Is it ultrasound or what. I not scared (yes I am) but curious. Than You for anticipated comments. Colin

You have every right to be scared but I’m sure you’ll be in good hands. Ultrasound. I had one a while back.

hi Colin, had same experience as you did , my doc said my kidneys were totally shot with dialysis starting straight away, terrified the shit out of me, but first i had to have a kidney scan, yuk that gel is yukky on ya back mate as you guessed yes it is a ultrasound scan, also they do a blood test, thank god i got good results back with a full bill of health for my kidneys, good luck to ya mate

Thankfully no! <G While they were trying to work out what was wrong with me, and before finally settling on diabetes, I was tested for stuff like PCOS which involved an ultra sound of my ovaries.
