Robin, Your dr. needs to read up more on the drugs. The main risk from metformin is lactic acidosis and in a healthy female with functioning kidneys, it is highly unlikely. If the dr. doubts at all, let him test your kidney function. As for the liver, a liver test at the beginning is needed because if you have impaired liver function, you may not metabolize the medicine and lactic acid could build up in the blood faster than the kidneys could filter it out. It is simply a matter of having a healthy liver to begin with whereas Rezulin *could* (but in the majority of cases, doesn’t) damage a healthy liver. I would suggest pulling up some articles from various sites regarding these medications and printing them out for your dr. to read. He or she needs to do a little research. ^–^ { ‘.’}cathy-to send e-mail, delete edyclub `
MY_WEB!
PCO-YOU_A RE_NOT_ALONE!
