Methylprednisolone and Tetracycline (IVF)

Question:

Hi Kay, My husband and myself have been through IVF twice with assisted hatching.  We have done this through two different facilities and both times we have had to take the Tetracycline and Medrol (I believe this is in the same line as Methylprednisolone). How long ago did you do you IVF cycle? Kelly

Response:

<<…..both times we have had to take the Tetracycline and Medrol (I believe this is in the same line as Methylprednisolone). Yes, Medrol is a brand name of methylprednisolone. <<How long ago did you do you IVF cycle? First IVF (ectopic) was a year ago; also did 2 subsequent FET’s.  2nd IVF (mc) was in August, did 1 FET/AH (no medrol or tet!).  This will be my 4th FET (and my 6th transfer, total)….this time w/medrol and tet.  Was just wondering how popular the use of these meds was.  Thanks for your input! -Kay PCOS; 8 clomid (1 mc); 4 Fertinex/IUI (no pg); IVF # 1 (ectopic); 3 FETs (no pg) IVF # 2 (mc) FET #4 on 12/7…..think it could work for once??  (lol)

Response:

Kay: I took both drugs starting right after retrieval for four days.  My DH took doxycycline for 10 days starting on day 3.  This is for a standard IVF cycle, no ICSI. Susan

Response:

For all who have done IVF (or DE or FET)…. I am wondering how many of you have or have not used methylprednisolone (medrol) and tetracycline immediately prior to transfer? Did you do AH or not? Thx, -kay

Response:

took 12 medrol for four days starting on the retrieval evening..not familar with the other drug..

Response:

I used Medrol and Doxycycline from the day of my retreival until one day after transfer. I think my clinic uses this with ICSI, though I’m not positive about this. Esther
