Heather, I m/c my first pregnancy (I was taking Met) but was pregnant again in 3 months after going back on Metformin and starting progesterone supplements earlier. Don’t give up hope. I’ve got the proof at home that it can happen. I too am recovering from a miscarriage – it is my 2nd in a year and a half of trying to get and stay pregnant. You too will probably hear a lot of really rude comments like – at least you know you can get pregnant and can try again. My advice to you is to take quite time and reflect on what it means to you. I think a lot of people try to focus on trying again too soon and don’t allow themselves (or our society doesn’t allow them) to mourn the loss. I am now taking Metformin and supplementing every cycle with progesteron. Make sure they check your progesteron levels. My husband and I were so excited that after a year and a half of trying to get pregnant with PCOS, we finally conceived. We went in for our seven week ultrasound and the doctor said the baby was gone. He called it a missed abortion or blighted ovum. We’re devastated. I don’t know what to do. I’m terrified that I’ll never conceive again. I just can’t believe I won’t get to hold my baby in my arms. Have any of you ever gone through this? Heather
Response:
Heather, I can’t say that I found out about losing my baby in the way that you did. I was approximately 14 weeks pregnant (I had only known less than a week). I actually had a miscarriage. The only thing that made it worse is that it to the OB Emergecy Section at our local University over 5 hours to tell me. I was also devistated. What made that worse is that there are quite a few of the ladies that I work with who are pregnant. I know that crying and talking about it to other PCOS women that have went througha m/c has helped. But I will tell you that it will get better. Hugs, Heather

Dear Heather- No, I have not personally gone through this, but a friend of mine has. You will be happy to know that less than a month later, she conceived again, and is now mother of two and another on the way. So keep your chin up
