OT: Addicted to fertility drugs? (sarcasm)

Question:

I realized today that my house is so full of "drugs" that I could have my own pharmacy.  I can not believe the amount of medication that I am now taking.  Look at this. In the bathroom: Synthroid  -  take every day for out of wack thyroid Parlodel  -  1/2 tab every night for high prolactin Prenatal Vitamin  -  for when it finally happens Aygestin  -  one tablet every morn and night for cyst                         (only have to take for 3 weeks) Clomid  -  100mg/day cd3-7 for next cycle Calcium supplement  -   2 tablets every day                         (family history of osteoporosis) Acidophillis  -  take every day to prevent yeast infections Vit. C  - trying to avoid the cold and flu season In the Refidge: Progesterone suppositories  -  ready for the next cycle Repronex  -  waiting for my cyst to go away and start new cycle And don’t forget the syringes that are in the drawer in the bathroom. I fell like a pill popping, suppository shoving, syringe stabbing drug addict. (LOL) What do you think?  Is there anything else I should add to my pile of pills everyday? Leslie

Response:

Ok, now I don’t post here too often, but I to laugh (hope you don’t mind :) In the bathroom: Parolodel – 1 tab before bed. (actually, I thought my dose used to be 1/2 too, hm) Prenatal vitamins for me, multis for DH, soon to add several I read about online yesterday. (for him) In the frige: Prog suppositories–waiting for next try Gonal-f–waiting…. Repronex for DH–didn’t work :( Pergonal for DH–does work, sorry we ever tried the Repronex Hcg–for DH Lupron–waiting….. Also, syringes and extra HCG in the hall closet. I fell like a pill popping, suppository shoving, syringe stabbing drug addict. (LOL)

LOL!! you have LOTS of company! What do you think?  Is there anything else I should add to my pile of pills everyday?

I’m sure if the doctors can think of something, they’ll let you know. ;) (but don’t give them any ideas) Beth

Response:

[waving hand wildly] Me, too!! :-) I’ve got: Prenatals–yes, the ones with the picture of the lovely baby on the front. (Once, in a fit of childish rage, I took a permanent marker and scribbled all over the picture! It kept looking at me in a pitying way, I couldn’t stand it.) Synthroid–another psycho thyroid here. 81mg Aspirin–you know, just in case I "accidentally" get pg–bwahahahahahahaha!;-) 46 amps of gonal-f–which I will be selling if RE tells me tomorrow that I’m at the end of the road :-( 40 or so insulin syringes leftover from lupron during 2 IVF’s. BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!!! In my bedroom closet, I also have the sharps containers from both of my IVF’s which contain all the needles I used–approx. 100 or so? I lost count after awhile. Beats me why I’m saving them. Maybe someday this will all seem like just a bad nightmare and I guess I’ll have those to show me all of this was real. Blah. Take care, all you fellow druggies!
