reading this news group
Question:
Hi, I’ve been hanging out here for about a week or two and am wondering if there is any secret to reading these messages. Meaning, is there a simple way of reading the new messages? Or do you just delete them all when you are finished each day? If so, how do you keep track of the thread? Or not delete a post you may want to read again? Is there a system you find more effective? Uselle, who can cook and eat better than she can use a computer.

Hi, I have aol too. I read my newsgroups using aol flashsessions. I automatically groups everything by subject and puts them in date order. Then I can read and respond at my leisure without being on-line. Then, in another flashsession I send my responses to the newsgroup. Posts stay in my "personal filing cabinet" until I either place them in "favorites" or delete them. Posts I’ve downloaded in flashsession are automatically marked as read. If I want to go back and find something later, I still can by searching the newsgroup. If this sounds like something you’d like to do, let me know if you need help! I usually do flashsession a couple of times a day. You can even set it to run when you’re not around. Tammy I can’t prepare for the millennium, I don’t even know what to fix for dinner tonight. I hate Spam except in the can. Remove the z’s for e-mail.

I read online using AOL and when I am finished I choose "Mark All Read" then only brand new posts will come up the next time I access the group. <html<P ALIGN=CENTERCathy (to email, delete spamslam) <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Cottage/8060/index.html"My Web </A <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Cottage/8060/PCOS.html"PCO page </a</P</html

I have no clue how AOL does it. With Outlook Express I just have it set to show me unread posts only. — Debbie Cusick I plan to be a procrastinator some day if I ever get around to it. Check out the asdlc FAQ at: http://www.grossweb.com/asdlc
