share your clomid experiences, please

hi all, I am on my first cycle of clomid (50mg) Toady is day 14 for me. I took the pills CD 5-9. Brief history: I haven’t ovulated on my own in 6 months (except for once), but I did prior to that. My ovulation problems surfaced following a miscarriage at 9 1/2 weeks in April. My OB prescribed the clomid and does not do u/s checks, so I was hoping to hear some of your personal experiences to help me anticipate when I might ovulate and what signs I may have. (I know that u/s checks and post-coitals are *very* important when on clomid and if this cycle is unsuccessful, I will get a referral to an RE.) I am very familiar with observing fertility signals. I have been charting BBT for nearly and year and checking CM (and cervix) for the same length of time. When I ovulate on my own I do notice fertile CM for 3-4 days. I know clomid can adversely affect CM, I am wondering if the fact that I have good CM when not on clomid will work to my advantage? Or, doesn’t it matter. I would love to hear some of your experineces with clomid… what cycle days did you take the pills? what cycle day did you ovulate? when did you get signs of ovulation? what were they? If you used OPKs, did you find them to be accurate? Did you notice CM? When did it start? Anything else you’d like to share? Thanks in advance for sharing your experience. I really appreciate it. I am really hopeful to *finally* ovulate.

Starting around cycle day 10 or 11……even had signs on cycles where I did not ovulate. <<what were they? abundant mucus, high cervix, ovary pain, wild dreams <<If you used OPKs, did you find them to be accurate? Coincidently, I only used them on cycles where I didn’t ovulate…..never had a positive (I have pcos, too…and no false positives). <<Did you notice CM? When did it start? See above. <<Anything else you’d like to share? Hot flashes only appeared on cycles where I didn’t ovulate. To clarify how I knew I didn’t ovulate…..I didn’t get a period by Day 65!!! (neg hCG and low P4). Needed provera to initiate subsequent cycles. I suspect that some of my anovulatory cycles were caused by lingering cysts from previous cycles. My *former* gyn would not monitor. But, once I started getting monitored by an RE, we discovered that I get cysts after *every* ovulatory cycle (both clomid and fertinex/hCG). -Kay

On 3 mnth of clomid and havent seen any sign of ovul. took ov pre kit and showed nothing this month. I previously got preg on clomid two and half yrs ago first cycle so i dont know whats going on this time. but i know you can ov from day 10-20 on clomid. are you checking your temp? That works for me. the ov pre kit (even frst respns) are hard to tell if your ov. dont ya think? 50 mg clomid– good luck!

Hi Kpaulsen, I have taken 2 cycles of clomid and the second one worked. Have you had your progesteone checked? If not please ask your ob to have that done, because if your progesterone level is too low you can sustain a pregnancy. i just had a mc due to low progesterone. Any yes US are very important on clomid you have to know if it worked and if there are follicles. I would call the ob and ask how do they plan to determine if the clomid worked or not. Hi I just finished my first (and hopefully last) cycle of chlomid. I only had one side effect which occurred on day 6. I took chlomid on days 5 -9. I had hot flashes on that day, they were gone the next day. I am now on day 27 and took a blood pg test yesterday. The results should be in either tomorrow or Friday. Wish me luck!!
