Well the lab tests are back…

Question:

And everything is normal, except for my cholestrol, which is 249.  I know that my endo is not going to prescribe glucophage for me.  He was totally against it.  I have another appt. with a new ob-gyn, a female, maybe she’ll be more responsive, I don’t know.   Another question I have for the group is that lately, I’ve been unable to eat anything without going to sleep.  Thirty minutes after eating, I get very sleepy, and it’s like I literally pass out.  Does anyone else have that problem? What are you eating???  The same thing happens to most women with PCOS when they eat a lot of carbs.  Have you tried lo-carbing…It’s done wonders for me….

This happens to me as well when I have had a relatively heavy meal.  Which means that I’ll have to have a light lunch (something like a can of soup + one slice of bread), if I have anything more than that I’ll pass out on my office’s desk. This is no good since I read it on some newspaper that lunch is the best time to take in fat since the body is more prepared to work through them than in the morning, and therefore there’s less chance of having them stuck on the walls of blood vessels.  Evening is a even better time to take in fat than lunch but since most people rest after their evening meal, people would put on weight if they have fatty foods in their evening meal.

I totally fall asleep after eating – I once drove off the road and hit a tree.  If I eat anything sweet I fall sound asleep or pass out so hard I would die in a fire. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Beth wrote: > And everything is normal, except for my cholestrol, which is 249.  I know that > my endo is not going to prescribe glucophage for me.  He was totally against > it.  I have another appt. with a new ob-gyn, a female, maybe she’ll be more > responsive, I don’t know. > Another question I have for the group is that lately, I’ve been unable to eat > anything without going to sleep.  Thirty minutes after eating, I get very > sleepy, and it’s like I literally pass out.  Does anyone else have that > problem? > Beth > ************************************************************************** > *********** > Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, > when you criticize them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes.

BTW, have you read the Colette Harris’s book???  I think it’s to do with the higher insulin levels in our bodies.  They’re just too efficient (or there are too many of them) in ferrying away the glucose to be stored as fat after we have eaten, because the sugar level in the blood had a huge drop due to this big giant troop of insulin, we nod off straight after eating??? I think the only solution for me is to eat less and take the 10 flights of stairs instead of the lift every morning.
