What is fertinex?

Question:

I think just read a post about someone taking clomid and fertinex at the same time.  While I’m at it, what is follistim? I am currently on my last cycle of clomid and will move on to something else if this cycle does not prove successful. Thanks!

Response:

Fertinex is an injectible drug, which is mainly  FSH.  Follistim is another injectible drug that is stronger, although I’m not sure of what hormone it mainly consists of.  If you have PCOS (like I do), Fertinex helps to balance out the excess LH so you can properly grow follicles to ovulate. <<Fertinex is an injectible drug, which is mainly  FSH.  Follistim is another injectible drug that is stronger, although I’m not sure of what hormone it mainly consists of. Both Fertinex and Follistim contain the same amounts/strengths of FSH.  They are just manufactured differently.  Some feel that Follistim is a little more effective, as it’s bioengineered, and supposedly "purer" than the urine extract (Fertinex).
