New Low-Carb Cookbook!!!

Question:

Okay, I have to say this… I AM IMPRESSED!!! For those of you who don’t know, Brenda Laughlin and Kelly Nason have put together a cookbook called "Cooking Low Carb". I ordered a copy a few weeks ago, before they started printing and shipping them. I expected it to be good, but not this good! I can’t believe how professional-looking it is! You guys did a bang-up job! My husband, who used to manage several book stores, saw me take it out of the box and asked, "who did they get to publish it?". I said, "They did." He asked, "They who?"  I said, "Brenda and Kelly published it themselves, on their own printer."  He was shocked! It looked too professional not to have come from a publishing house. If you’re looking for a gift for a friend who wants to eat low-carb, this would be a GREAT one. They’re selling it for $17.95 plus $4 Shipping and handling. Worth every penny, IMHO. And for those of you who are coming to the conference, there will be a table set up so that you can buy a copy there. And for those of you who are coming to the conference, there will be a table set up so that you can buy a copy there. For those of you who don’t know it, there will be a PCOS conference in the Chicago area June 5th and 6th, and you can get complete details at http://www.pcosupport.org/conference/ They have all the recipes labeled so that you know how many grams of protein, carbs and fiber each one contains. And they sound really yummy! There is even a whole section of low-carb desserts, a recipe for low-carb pancakes, one for low-carb cookies, macaroons, high protein energy bars, great sounding casseroles, souffles, seafood recipes like Baja Grilled Shrimp, a Pepper Steak recipe that looks divine, and a ton of great low-carbing tips in addition to the recipes. The sections are: Appetizers, Soup and Salad, Beef and Pork, Poultry, Seafood, Make your own (sauces, dressings, etc), Other Stuff (chocolate fudge, scrambled egg muffins, etc.), Desserts, and Veggies. They are donating a portion of the proceeds to the PCOSA, so it’s for a great cause. I *love* cookbooks and although I expected this one to be really nice it truly exceeds my wildest expectations. I’m really glad I ordered it. I’ll have to Email Brenda and Kelly later this summer to tell them how much weight I lost while using their recipes. ;-) If you want to order one, you can check out their web site at http://www.cest-bon.com/ You can order online using a credit card if you want to, and they even have some sample recipes posted there. It makes me wish I had ordered Brenda’s other book at the same time. She has one called "Cest Bon" that has cajun, creole and southern recipes. Okay, I sound like an info-mercial. Sorry about that. But how long have I been waiting for a good low-carb cookbook? Now that it’s here, I’m excited! Mary PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome Association, Inc. http://www.pcosupport.org
