GYN

Question:

well, my GYN just doesn’t get it.  he didn’t seem so concerned at all when I showed him all the info.  So I said fine, time to go search for an endrocrinologist.  There is only 1 at the hospital I work (cheaper to go there even if my coworkers have to see my labwork coem through!).  And he only takes referrals.  This was a big pain in the rear but I finally got the referral only to have to wait until August to see him. This sucks majorly, but hopefully it works out. On a different note, a lady came through outpatient department needing a glucose tolerance test and they didn’t preform it b/c her fasting glucose was higher then the lab allows for that particular test (that is is was greater then 150).  So the test was not preformed.  The rest of her labwork came through where there was an FSH and insulin levels ordered and I thought well I know what is wrong with her!  Sure enough, her diagnosis line said polycystic ovaries.  (Plus, she happened to have the same doctor I was trying to see).  So this is also a good sign that the endo knows a little something about it. Anyway, this Thursday, I get to change status from a student to an official med tech in title.  Not that it makes me anymore able to answer questions…in fact, I am noticing I may not be the one to ask anyway b/c this area is not one they tend to talk about alot.  But I CAN tell you anything about the test side of it. This newsgroup is very busy and hard to keep up with so while you may not hear all that much from me, I am around.
