PolyCystic Ovaries
Question:
Five years ago I became pregnant and wound up having a miscarriage. When I went to the hospital ( do to hopefulness that I hadn’t lost the baby) they informed that indeed I had. Now, five years later and after having had sporadic periods, sometimes not for 3-9 months at a time I have found out that I have Polycystic Ovaries. I am at a complete loss as to what to do. My Gyn reccommended that I go on the BCP, but when I did nothing happened. I have no idea what to do next, or even if I can get pregnant. Help….. Any insite would be welcome !!! Thanks!! SyndaRose
Response:
PCO is relatively common. There’s loads of info. on PCO on the web, including support groups etc. You might like to look at www.pcosupport.org I’ve been diagnosed with PCO by ultrasound and blood work. At the moment my hormones are fine and I ovulate. Lots of people with PCO do get pregnant – I think it depends on the severity. As you got pg once, I’m sure you can again! Good luck, Sue
